GENERAL TSO CHICKEN
Ingredients
Chicken Marinade:
- 2 chicken breast
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
Chicken Coating (Flour Mix):
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1.5 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking powder
Sauce:
- 1/3 cup water
- 1.5 tbsp soy sauce
- 1.5 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 3.5 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp chili garlic paste
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Sauce Aromatics:
- 2 cloves crushed garlic
- 1.5 tsp ginger
- 6 dried red chilies
Corn Starch Slurry:
- 1 tbsp water
- 1 tsp corn starch
Instructions:
- Dice up 2 chicken breast and marinate with the ingredients listed above
- After marinating for 10 minutes, coat chicken with the flour mix
- Spray it with some oil and air fry for 12 minutes at 400 F. (Flip halfway and spray with more oil to ensure crispiness)
- For the sauce, heat up 1 tbsp oil in a pan and add in your garlic, ginger and chillies
- Once fragrant, add in your sauce mix and corn starch slurry. Let the sauce heat up and once it gets thick, set aside.
- Add in your cooked chicken and mix - garnish with sesame seeds and spring onion, if desired
